Damn if life doesn't like to change significantly all in about a month. Since last I writ, I now have a job at an independent upscale market in the meat department, I moved out of my Parent's house to an average downtown flat, and have about $2 in my bank account! Life rules.

The job rules. The management is extremely realistic and somehow finds a way to make you want to do good for the company—a concept the corporate culture has somehow failed to grasp. I basically spend the morning making the display cases look pretty and then make marinated meat all day and tell people the best way to cook it. Really, a dream job until I get my degree. Heh, and I thought my job at Target was good. Today I got a free dry-aged ribeye just because... because my manager decided everyone working during the grand opening deserved a free steak. I pan-seared it, then made a sauce with the fond, some stock and butter... ohhh... it was the best steak I've had... ever. I hate to toot my own horn, but culinary school has definitely paid off. Fuck.

The apartment is average. Old walls, leaky dishwasher, awkward lighting in the living room. But the process of making it livable is half the fun of moving, right? It's kind of a hodgepodge, but slowly coming together. It's only about 1.5 miles from work, so I've been biking there. Hey, yay exercise. I plan on being more active now. And why? Because what else is there to do in a big city when you can't go partying at the bars [how fucking dreary]?

And then sleep. Lots of sleep needs to happen. And why? Because waking up at 4:30AM for work is awkward.
